Android has had third-party keyboards for years, and Apple, as usual, is late to the party. With iOS 8 however, Tim Cook has finally got into the act and changed that. I’ll be honest, I love the keyboard on my Nexus 7. It’s a treat to type on and I am glad I can do the same on my iOS device now.
While there might be many third-party keyboards out there for iOS 8, the two most prominent ones are Swift Key and Swype. Swift Key is free and Swype costs 69 pence. I have taken some time out and tried out these two apps for you.
Swift Key
After you’ve installed Swift Key, you must add Swift Key to your list of keyboards. How? Watch the GIF animation below.
Using Swift Key on iOS 8
Using Swift Key on your iOS 8 device is a cinch, trust me. It makes your life so much easier. Watch the GIF animation below.
A few words on Swift Key: So you saw my hands on Swift Key iOS 8 demo. It was pretty cool and I am sure you agree. The best part about Swift Key: it’s fast, makes a few mistakes, learns from them and it’s free. It doesn’t cost you a dime. Why don’t you try it. I can guarantee it will improve your typing speed by a large margin. Let’s talk Swype.
Swype
Swype has long been the poster boy for third party keyboards with the Swype-pioneering gesture loved much by Android users. Apple fans rejoice – iOS 8 has Swype too and it costs 69 pence. I am happy to spend a few pence for my fans so you don’t have to buy it to just check it out. “Much public service”. Here’s a GIF Animation. By the way, Swype is available here in case you decide to purchase.
Which one should you buy then?
Watch the GIF animation to decide.
